Barbara Harpman (Bruington)

Mrs. Barbara Jean Bruington, 

63, of 1316 Wind Castle Trail, Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Peoria, IL, died at 10:50 AM Monday, March 15, 2005 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis, IN.
She was born on May 6th, 1941 in Galesburg, IL to John W. and Paula W. Manley Harpman. She married Ted Douglas Bruington in Galesburg on June 9, 1963. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kelli D. (and Brad) Bosch of Ankeny, IA and Mindy (and Brian) McDonald of Carmel, IN, a son, Bryon D. (and Amy) Bruington of Romeoville, IL, two sisters, Marilyn Dixon of Sun City West, AZ and Janet Reagan of Las Vegas, NV and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Brooke and Madison McDonald.
She taught and coached for 27 years in Peoria schools, retiring in 1994. She had taught at Trewyn Junior High School, Richwoods High School, Central High School, and Manuel High School, where she was the head coach of the boys and girls swim team. She also taught interior design and Illinois Central College. She was a graduate of Galesburg High School and Western Illinois University in Macomb. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Gina Sheridan will officiate. Burial will be in Mosher Cemetery, near Alexis, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 AM Saturday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to OVAR Coming Together, 3050 North Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46208.
