Mrs. Robert D. Coe, 22, of Lake Bracken, Galesburg Route 3, died Sunday at 5:20 a.m., in Cottage Hospital, where she had been a patient 2½ days. Mrs. Coe, the former Carolyn Grace Higgins, was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Galesburg. She was graduated from Galesburg High School in 1959, and was married to Mr. Coe Dec. 5 of that year at Davenport. In high school she was a member of the National Honor Society and was a member of the GHS cheerleader team which won the championship trophy in 1959 at the state high school basketball tournament to Champaign. Coe was a member of the Silver Streaks cage squad which won third place that year. Mrs. Coe attended Western Illinois University one year after she was graduated from high school. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. Funeral services well be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the First and Puckett Funeral Home, where friends may call Tuesday evening Dr. Joseph Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Surviving are the husband; a son Robert Joseph; two daughters, Kerry Lynn and Jacquelyn Carol; her mother, Mrs. Anna Rockhold of Galesburg; a sister, Miss Janet Ann Higgins, who was a member of the GHS cheerleading team which won championship honors at this year's state basketball tournament at Champaign, and her maternal grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. O. W. Breeden of Galesburg. Her father Jack A. Higgins, preceded her in death in July 1962.
