Robert Rittenhouse

Robert H. Ritenhouse

PEORIA - Robert H. Ritenhouse, 60, 3211 N. Avalon, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday (Jan 27, 2002) at home.

He was born July 12, 1941, in Galesburg, the son of John Neil and Anne L. Connell Ritenhouse.

He married Catriona McNeill on Aug. 6, 1977, in Macomb.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Damon Ritenhouse and Owen Ritenhouse, both of Peoria; one brother, Jack (and Serena) Ritenhouse, Reno, Nev.; and two sisters, Mary Margaret Horton, Navarre, Fla., and Anne L. (and Larry) Taylor, Galesburg.

He was a Army and Navy veteran, retiring as sergeant from the Army Reserves.

He was a special education teacher in Peoria County, retiring in August 2001.

He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church, Peoria, and Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285, Galesburg.

Funeral will be at 10 a m. Saturday in St. Philomena Catholic Church, with the Rev. Vien Van Do officiating. Visitation will be a half-hour before the service at the church. His body was donated to medical science. Burial will be later in Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Wright & Salmon Mortuary, Peoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the St. Philomena School Endowment Fund.
