Ex-Galesburg Woman Found Dead in Motel
Police in Redwood City, Calif., said today, that an inquest will be conducted to investigate the death of Mrs. Veronica Willey, 22, a former Galesburg resident.
Mrs. Willey was found dead in a motel room in Redwood City Friday morning, Nov. 8, 1963,. Police found her body lying on a shotgun.
She was born in 1941 in Merceline, Mo., and moved with her family to Galesburg at age 3. The former Veronica Routt was a graduate of Galesburg High School and moved to Spraul, Pa., four years ago when she was married to Roy Willey.
Survivors include the husband, address not available; a 3-year-old daughter; her father, Roy Routt of Cameron, and her mother, Mrs. Gladys Strawhacker of Redwood City, formerly of Galesburg.
Services will be held Tuesday at White Oaks Chapel, Redwood City. Burial will be in a Redwood cemetery.
