Lee R. Dickson, 69, passed away peacefully at 2 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at his home. He was born July 22, 1941, in Galesburg, the son of Harold L. and Lorraine F. (Malmrose) Dickson. He was united in marriage to Beverly A. Schewe on Aug. 2, 1980, in Loves Park and together they shared more than 30 years of marriage. Lee grew up in Galesburg and was a 1959 graduate of Galesburg High School. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Dickson of Marion; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Julie Dickson of Gaylord, Mich., and Matt and Jennie Dickson of Herrin; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Chad Dodge of Kingwood, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Dickson, Jeremy Haas, Melissa Richardson, Brianna Dodge, Olivia Dodge, Emily Dodge, Taylor Rolson and Parker Dickson; three brothers, Alan Dickson, Marc Dickson, both of Marion, and Ross Dickson of Glendale, Ariz.; his unofficial brothers, Duane Lawson of Madison, Wis., Don Swanson of Peoria and Don Bell of Danville, Calif.; other extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Jeffrey Lee Dickson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, in Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Marc Dickson presiding. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery of Marion.
