Carol Eddy (Newkirk)

Carol Lyn Newkirk, 81, of Innsbrook, Missouri passed away on March 18, 2023. She was born March 28, 1941 in Galesburg, IL. She was a graduate of Galesburg High School and had a BS in Nursing from Presbyterian Saint Luke's School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois and a BS in Liberal Arts from Alfred University in Alfred, NY. 

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Don Newkirk; her daughters Debra Massot (Scott) of St. Louis, MO and Susan Newkirk of Cape Town, South Africa; two grandchildren: Madison Gardner (Griffin) of Nashville, TN and Lauren Massot, of St. Louis, MO; her sister Anne Schebo (Jack) of Kansas City, MO, and brother Robert Thurman (Ines) of Chicago, IL; other relatives and friends.

She loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in St. Charles, MO. She and her husband helped plant several churches in Clearwater and St. Petersburg, FL and Wentzville, MO. She loved world missions and traveled to India and Peru to serve. She and her husband loved traveling and visited 56 countries, some of them multiple times. 

Carol loved people and had a heart for hospice patients. She worked for Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) in St. Louis and for Hospice of Suncoast in Pinellas County, Florida. 

A celebration of life service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church in St. Charles, MO on Saturday, May 20 at 11:30 am with visitation beforehand beginning at 9:30 am. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the World Missions program at Grace Presbyterian Church, 6308 State Route N, St. Charles, MO 63304.
