Robert Fitchpatrick

GALESBURG - Robert M. Fitchpatrick, 74, Galesburg, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, in Cottage Hospital.
He was born Aug. 21, 1940, in Galesburg, the son of William LeRoy and Ruth Helen Hedden Fitchpatrick Sr. He first married Mary Treadway. He later married Sandra Jean Hetze on Sept. 7, 2010, in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Bonnie Simpson, Eileen Fitchpatrick and Roberta (Steven) Kemp, all of Galesburg; three stepdaughters, Robin Guild of Galesburg, Roxanne Pleskovitch of Stafford, Virginia, and Rebecca Guild of Galesburg; five stepsons, Roger Guild of Rogers, Arkansas, Raymond Guild of Tennessee, Randy and Ronald Guild, both of Galesburg, and Robert Guild of Wilton, Wisconsin; his brother, George Fitchpatrick of Galesburg; two sisters, Martha (Don) German of Hereford, Arizona and Eloise Dodd of Holiday, Florida; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild and two stepgreat-grandchildren on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Julie Ann Fitchpatrick in 1992; one grandson, Christopher Fitchpatrick in 1994; and one brother.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961.
Robert worked for McCabe's Scrap Metal for over 35 years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He was involved in the Rotary Travelogue at the high school. He enjoyed sightseeing and spending time with his family.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at First Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Roland Grauman will officiate. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with military rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene.
