Myrna Swinger (Davis)

Mrs. Myrna L. Davis, Galesburg Chapel

Davis, Myrna72, of Galesburg, Ill. died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
She was born February 11, 1941 in Galesburg to John D. and Gladys Kiefer Swinger. She married Ken Davis in 1966 in Galesburg.
Surviving are two sons, Ed Jones and Danny Jones both of Galesburg, three daughters, Donna Raye (and Wayne) Matthews of California, Sandra Davis of Galesburg and Natasha (and Bryan) Mink of Davenport, Iowa, one brother, Rev. Arlen (and Margaret) Swinger of Tallahassee, Fla., two sisters, Darla Swinger of Galesburg and Nancy (and Joe) Gilmore of Green Castle, Ind., seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special friend at Seminary Manor. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son James Davis.
Myrna was a homemaker and worked for the former Jumer’s Continental Inn in Galesburg as a housekeeper. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, gardening and playing her organ. She loved her dog Molly.
Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2013 at the First Church of the Nazarene. Rev Ron Scarlett and Rev. Arlen Swinger will officiate. There will be no visitation. Private family burial will be at a later date

I remember Myrna starting in Farnham Elementary through 12th grade. Always had a smile.  Lived accross the street from Farnham Elem. School.  Sad to see another "school mate" pass away.
