Bill Eldert

Visitation for WilliamK. "Bill" Eldert, 66, of Danforth, will be from 4 p.m. Friday until the 8 p.m. prayer service at the Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman. Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home in Galesburg.

Private burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to Provena St. Mary's Dialysis Center. He died Monday (March 24, 2008) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee, following a six-year illness.

Mr. Eldert was a farmer and truck driver for Apolis Transport in Peotone. He was born March 27, 1941, in Galesburg, the son of Arvid and Naomi Haptonstall Eldert. He was a graduate of Galesburg High School. He moved to Gilman in 1967 and had lived in Onarga for several years. He was a member of the Mission Covenant Church in Galesburg. He enjoyed camping, tractor pulls and trucking.

Surviving are his wife, the former Jennefer R. Wetherford, whom he married Feb. 14, 1964; one daughter, Andrea Kay Eldert of Gilman; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Aaron and Renee Eldert of Remington, Ind., Arik Eldert of Redondo Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren; his mother of Galesburg; two brothers, Maurice Eldert and Dennis Eldert, both of Galesburg; one uncle, one aunt, and several nieces and nephews.
