Mr. Gerald W. Hankins, 61, of 100 N. Grove St. Henderson IL. died 9:00 AM Monday December 3, 2001 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

He was born October 14, 1940 in Galesburg IL to Winfred and Margaret Lucille Brackett Hankins.

He married Nancy Koslowski in Maryland in 1961. He later married Sally J. Duncan in 1989 in Galesburg IL. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2001.

He is survived by his father, Winfred Hankins of Galesburg IL; two sons Michael ( and Dot) Hankins in Glen Burnie MD and David (and Rhonda) Hankins in Pasadena MD; one daughter Mrs. Mark (Ann Marie) Booker in Glen Burnie MD; three step sons, Jeff Sallee in Lynn Center, IL, Scott (and Pam) Sallee and Todd (Debbie) Sallee, both in Galesburg IL; a step daughter, Mrs. Mike (Susan) Davis in North Henderson, IL; three brothers, Alvin (and Beth) Hankins and Larry (and Teresa) Hankins, both in Galesburg IL, and Terry (and Linda) Hankins in Knoxville IL; a sister, Mrs. Louie (Bonnie) Friend in Abingdon IL; six grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.

He worked as a truck driver for Atlas Trucking for 15 years, retiring in 2000. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Visitation will be 6:30-8:00 PM Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Military Rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285. No services are planned. Memorials may be made to the Community Hospices of America.
