GALESBURG — Gary D. Leaf, 61, 139 N. Pleasant Ave., died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 6, 2001) at home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Galesburg, the son of Victor and Ila Hanson Leaf.
He married Janet R. Coats McCann on Aug. 9, 1991, in Burlington, Iowa.
Surviving are his wife; one son, David Leaf, Keithsburg; one stepson, Scott McCann, Plymouth, Minn.; one stepdaughter, Peggy McCann, East Lansing, Mich.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and a daughter.
He graduated from Galesburg High School.
He worked at Maytag for 28 years, retiring in 1995. He also worked for Benner Tea Company and Giant Food Stores.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, I.M.A. Local 2063 and the National Rifle Association.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hinchliff- Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with Eleanor Landon officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
