GALESBURG - Sandra J. "Sandy" Whitson, 56, 1278 W. Grove St., died at 10:55 p.m. Monday (nov. 3, 1997) at home.

She was born Oct. 31, 1941, in Galesburg, the daughter of William and Wilma Bell Peterson.

She married John Whitson in 1960 in Galesburg.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Mike Whitson, Galesburg, and Jeff Whitson, Columbia, S.C.; three daughters, Lisa Rogan, Sherrard, and Catherine Ayers and Michele Whitson, both of Galesburg, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.

She was graduated from Galesburg High School. She was a homemaker.

She was of Christian faith.

A private family graveside service will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home.
