I am deeply saddened by Roger Schwarz's sudden death. My wife,  Don Swanson and his wife plus Dick Borgard with his wife had a very enjoyable time together at the reunion. Roger was a picture of health, in fact he had mentioned playing 18 holes of golf that morning.Looking back when we were kids, Roger and I would play canasta out in my back yard on my folks picnic table. A bunch of us would play football in the neighbors yard. They had a very long open field and as long as we didn't go into her strawberry patch { Clara } would not get mad at us.We spent many long hours at Custer Park playing baseball.Roger and I also made our folks and teachers a little upset with us for some shenanigans we pulled. I won't go into that though.I don't know if I have a point or not, its just that I will miss him.I do know he had a good life with Sharon his wife and his family.

I remember Roger saying, at the first night of our 55th GHS reunion, the day of Alva Earley receiving his belated graduation certificate, "Hey, I just saw you on the channel 8 news tonight, talking about Alva Earley".  I asked him if I made any sense, and he replied "Yes, you made sense".  Roger seemed to be so alive, alert, and well, that I can hardly believe he won't be able to attend our next reunion.  We will all miss him.

My thoughts of Roger were muddled I guess. I'm somewhat at a lost so I hope you will forgive me for screwing up your name Dick Hogan. Also you told me you weren't married, and I blew that to. Holy Cow !!!!

It just seemed like yesterday at the 55th reunion he was there!  My thoughts & prayers are with his wife & families.  I have gone through loosing a husband after many years.  It doesn't get "better"; just "different".   Sincerely, Jennefer Eldert

The news of another classmate passing is sad for me.  I will have a picture memory of Roger looking so fit, happy, and healthy on August 8.  His parents and my parents were longtime friends.  Our Mom's played in a Bunco club for 40 years!!  Prayers for his family and close friend, as I know many of you in the class of 59 were.
